"10 Years In The Making" My highschool reunion.

First of all, I have to say that my classmates really are awesome.

Ok, here's the story....

My daughter is named Laurel after a girl I knew in highschool. She was (still is) intelligent, hardworking, pretty, talented, and all in all a good, decent person. I named my daughter after her in hopes that somehow she could live up to that ideal. I tell you this, mostly so you won't get confused whan I say "Laurel" and I won't be talking about my Buggie Bear.

Laurel (the elder) along with a few other classmates were in charge of the reunion, and when they heard that Jay was deployed, they decided to ask everyone to donate something to send to Jay in a HUGE care package (at least three totally stuffed priority boxes. HOLY COW!) I honestly wasn't expecting a lot of people to care, but I was extremely surprised. I got to thank them at the time, but I want to say it again here....THANK YOU!!!

You all have no idea what it means to me that you cared so much, and when Jay sees the outporing of support he will feel the same way. I know that he would be embarrassed if he knew there was such a carrying on about him, but he'll get over it.

Anywho, I took Buggie (little Laurel) as my date. She is such a funny kiddo. She's 11 mind you, and when it was five after nine, she tugged on my sleeve and informed me that it was time to go home, b/c it's after her bedtime! So you know, the rule is that as long as she is in her room, she can go to sleep whenever she wants. She chooses to use this rule very wisely, and reads until she falls asleep. So, really she wanted to get to her books. I bribed her silence with the promise of a webkin, which I used to my advantage, and got her to dance with me. I was really not going to sit at the table and watch all the couples dance.

I don't want to do a play by play of the entire night, because I'll be here all day, but here are my best of highlights:

I won the Ms. Dick Clark award for not changing since highschool (they were more drunk than I thought)

Nate called me sweet-stuff, and I thought he was talking to Kim (thanks for the ego boost there, but, he was drunk....LMAO)

I won the award for being married to a classmate the longest (nine years)

I got to shut down the DJ for playing stuff you wouldn't believe!!!!! in front of (little) Laurel.

I got to dance with my baby girl.

And, best of all, my very favorite, I got to see my KIMMIE!!! again. My very bestest friend in school. The best person I have ever known, and doubt I'll meet better! Without her there, I would have left in half an hour, really! I felt really strange there without Jay, and without any of my bandmates...(Where were you guys??) and without Tanya. Gees, I was really looking forward to saying hi. It wouldn't have been highschool with out Tanya and me arguing with eachother! We did it so well, Shane had us do it in the school paper! Come on, lady you'd better be there in five years!

I had a great time....It was a little strange at first, but once I started talking to people, I got right back into it, even giggling my butt off with Kim, just like we used to. My only complaint is that I couldn't hear a darned thing over the music, and since I'm already partially deaf in both ears, I bet I answered some questions strangly, so if anybody didn't get me it's cause I didn't want to say "huh??" all night. I hate having to explain my deafness to people, cause they always think I'm joking...."I'm deaf in one ear, and can't hear out of the other!" For real!!

Oh, and I also want to say, Laurel, thanks for the hug. You got me to tear up a bit, but I will hold on to that hug forever.

Thanks Kim, for remembering (you know what) and it's because you are awesome!

Oh, and Kim. Two words (you'd better remember)

ALIEN SEX!!!!!!

LOLOLOLOL
