Happy Birthday

Dad

Today would be my dad's 72nd birthday.  It's strange to think about.  He died when I was 14, so I never got to know him as a man, and knowing someone as your parent is almost not knowing them at all.  It's a shame really.  He was an interesting person, who lived a full, and varied life before I was even born.  I often wish he were around so I could pick his brain.  I really wish he had been around to meet Jay and the girls.  Especially Jay though.  I think seeing the two of them have a conversation would have been incredibly entertaining.
So, Happy Birthday, Dad.  Wherever you are.  We'll be having  butterscotch pie. Maybe you'll stop by for some.
