An old hurt
I wonder what it was that made these cuts so far up the tree?  They are well healed and eight feet or so up the trunk so I'd say maybe 6 years old? Miah's wild imagination said it was Wolverine.  Leave it to her.

    People are much the same. Wounds heal but are still just under the surface and visable at times.
